This week, the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Digital Creators published a report I've been hoping someone in power would write. My key takeaway? Creators on video-sharing platforms play a genuine, measurable role in young people's education. Free tutoring. Support for neurodiverse learners. Routes back into learning for kids who, for whatever reason, can't be in a classroom. One creator told the group about a student who was bullied out of school at 14 and learned entirely through YouTube maths content until he got into Cambridge.
"Trust Us" Won't Cut It, But "Check Us" Might.
The APPG has made the case that creator content matters. Now the industry has to make the case that it can be accountable.
